The Saint-Louis Jazz festival just ended with a great performance of Pape and Cheikh’s band  and also of Fata. Orchestra Aragon and Wasis' performance were the highlights of this edition. People came from everywhere to enjoy this international meeting and the city was very colourful with different nationalities.  Alibeta, One Pac, Souleymane Faye and Pape Niang “blew up” the “Hotel Residence”, “Flamingo”, “Spoutnik”, “Quai des Arts”, and  “NAP” stages of the Jazz Festival. People were going from place to place because they didn’t want to miss anything wanted to enjoy every single gig every night. As usual the Festival was a great success! Stay tuned for the Videos

One Pac just released his new album titled Hip Hop Soul Jazz. With his very original style, a mixture of Hip Hop and Jazz, he is certainly going to be ranked easily among the best Senegalese Hip Hop artists of the moment. Author, composer and interpreter,  Alibeta is a very talented Senegalese musician originally from Saloum Islands. Sound of the Word was very pleased to attend the great performance he did at “Spoutnik bar” during the Jazz Festival.  Alibeta will be featured very soon on Sounds of the World.
